After last month's exciting trip to Pasadena City College Flea Market, we couldn't wait to go back.
We're hunting for glass knobs for that new armoire we just got, and thought the man who sold us those lovely crystal Pollyanna prisms might have some that would work and weren't too terribly expensive. We didn't find quite what we were looking for in that department, but we still made out like bandits.
Today's loot included:
* vintage rick-rack, in turquoise and dark red
* long tweezers for crafting
* 1 big roll of embroidered vintage trim, which I'm going to see if I can make into a snazzy guitar strap for my husband
* an old Snake Eyes still on his card
* 7 vintage jazz records
* vintage handkerchiefs, perfect for embroidering
* a fancy vintage apron (the kind I think Lucy always put on when she had company).
I admit to a weakness for pretty aprons, even though I already have a fair number...and I actually use mostly full aprons anyway, since I always manage to get things all over myself. But at $3, the bargain was just too good to resist. Although we'll have to find our knobs elsewhere, all in all this was a very fun trip.
PS--there was also another item we thought was really funny and sweet, but judging from the tag, it seemed as though he was already claimed.
Oh looks like you scored some lovely items at the Flea Market

I`ll be linking your blog to my page.
have a nice day.
You're lucky to live near a flea market. I don't even live near a supermarket, so I'm going to have to put you in my favourites for some seriously wonderful vicarious shopping!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your photos of 84 Charing Cross Road with the newspaper clippings was a joy! I always love to find relevant clippings still lurking in an old book....I used to buy my secondhand books in Charing Cross in my old London-based life!!

That's an excellent find, and it's always wonderful to spot new goodies for potential crafting projects! I have a habit of keeping all my old rubbish, so that I don't go hunting for some, as I know if I do I'll never get out of the shop! Much love Ana Goncalves on swapbot. (blog me baby)
ReplyDeleteAlways good to keep an eye out for goodies. ;) Thanks everyone! And LISA. I'm so jealous you've been to 84.
